There's a real lack of true main event star power in WWE at the moment, which is precisely why Chris Jericho was called upon to lend his services for the Royal Rumble. Y2J's annual returns feel a little old hat these days, but WWE want to pull every resource they have to make the Rumble seem like a big deal. Jericho is a big star, so he got the call. It became clear on this past Raw that the Canadian will play a big part in the Rumble bout itself. There's even a chance that he could be in the final four men remaining in the match, alongside Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and possibly someone like Bray Wyatt. There are even those fans (mostly found on forums) who believe that Jericho will turn heel on Reigns in an attempt to win the title. That could happen, but it seems logical to predict that Jericho will be there or thereabouts at the end of the Rumble. His entry into the bout will not placate those fans who desperately wish to see someone like Daniel Bryan make a comeback, but that can't be helped right now. WWE can only work with performers who are fit to wrestle, meaning Jericho's involvement will be significant.
