Every Royal Rumble needs someone for the Warlord/Santino Marella role, and there's no better candidate for this year's spot than Curt Hawkins, who hasn't won a WWE match since John Bradshaw Layfield was an Acolyte.

Hawkins re-entered mainstream fan consciousness on this week's Raw, when he was a special guest referee in The Revival's match against the Lucha House Party. This suggests that WWE have something planned for him going forward, which should result in a cathartic moment as he finally breaks the lengthy losing streak, though only a madman would predict him doing so in the Rumble.
