WWE Rumour: Is The Rock Upset With How WrestleMania 29 Went Down?

By Darragh O'Connor /

The Figure Four Weekly is reporting that The Rock is upset with the WWE. The belief is that "The Great One" is annoyed because of the WWE higher ups changing the original plans for Wrestlemania 29 on the day of the show. This comes on the heels of the torrent of wild rumours surrounding The Rock's absence from last week's Raw. The report continues to outline Sunday's original plans. The original plan was said to have involved The Rock retaining the WWE title in the main event against John Cena before eventually dropping it to Cena at the Extreme Rules ppv show in May. This obviously didn't happen. The report then claims that "there is legitimate heat between the two and they simply don't get along in real life...the two are said to be cordial backstage... you can tell there is tension between the two according to those backstage." This may stem back to their public flamewar a few years ago where Cena originally challenged The Rock. Adam Martin then reported that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also missed the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday due his Wrestlemania 29 injuries. Johnson cancelled on Raw earlier in the week and had been scheduled to make an appearance on the MTV broadcast. Following Wrestlemania, The Rock gave an update on his Twitter. "Injury update: Dr€™s & I elected not to re-attach tendons to my pelvis. They'll just scar up. Now I prep to shoot HERCULES #TheDemiGOD" He is apparently avoiding surgery as it would delay the shoot for his new movie, Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Hercules: The Thracian Wars is set for release in 2014.
