WWE Said No To This Female Tag-Team

Vince McMahon just wasn't interested in making this WWE duo a reality.

Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green almost joined forces as a brand new women's tag-team in WWE.

Purrazzo told the 'Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling' show that she was left baffled when company chiefs told her being real-life best friends "doesn’t mean you’re a tag team". The current Impact Wrestling star, who also occasionally appears on AEW programming, couldn't believe what she was hearing.

She'd pitched to team up with Green because they had off-screen chemistry. When Deonna suggested WWE bring that connection to TV, they balked at the mere thought. Later, the same thing happened when Purrazzo pitched a trios combination with both Green and Rachael Ellering.

Purrazzo realises now that she was banging her head against a brick wall - her constant pitches led some behind the scenes to believe she "had a loud mouth", but she doesn't regret trying to make things happen for her or her friends.

WWE's only reason for refusing the request was nonsense: "We just don’t know why best friends would be a tag-team".

Deonna and Green already spent a lot of time together away from wrestling, and they thought the package would be perfect.
