Having been released by the company last week, Mickie James has today taken to Instagram to reveal that WWE sent her a trash bag with her belongings in.

As the five-time WWE Women's Champion says over a brief Insta video - which can be found here - “This is pretty f**king accurate, how I got my stuff. Thanks WWE".

A true Hall of Fame-worthy talent, one of the best female wrestlers of all time, and someone with countless championships under her belt, James quite frankly deserved better than this. But to be fair, Mickie deserved a lot better, period, during her most recent run with WWE.

After six years away from the company, Mickie James returned to the WWE fold in 2016, unsuccessfully challenging Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship at that November’s NXT TakeOver: Toronto special. The following month saw the announcement that James had inked a multi-year deal with WWE, and she’d turn up on the SmackDown brand alongside Alexa Bliss. Despite clearly still being great in the ring when allowed to be, WWE largely did nothing of note with the talented James for the next several years.

During her time away from WWE, Mickie thrived as part of TNA’s Knockouts division. Where and when Mickie James resurfaces, we’ll have to wait and see – although one hugely intriguing option would be for Mickie to land in the NWA, where her husband Nick Aldis is ruling the roost as the NWA Worlds Champion.
