WWE Sends Raw Star Back To NXT, Gimmick Change Imminent?
Raw wrestler sent back to WWE NXT following house show comeback last month.
Veer Mahaan is an NXT wrestler once more.
Following on from the Raw wrestler's return to the developmental house show circuit last month, Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has, indeed, sent Mahaan back to NXT.
Veer is to reunite his old Indus Sher tag team with Sanga. Longer term, the goal will be to establish the duo as a powerhouse tandem on the main roster, which the promotion hasn't had since Authors of Pain or Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
Saturday 24 September saw Indus Sher reunite for the first time since January 2021, defeating NXT regulars Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward of Chase U at a house show. The duo hasn't worked another bout since then, though Hurricane Ian forced WWE to reschedule a couple of NXT live events scheduled for last weekend, limiting their opportunities.
Indus Sher's original run was short-lived. Competing as Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar under manager Malcolm Bivens, Mahaan and Sanga originally came together in April 2020, disappearing a few short weeks later. They then reunited for a one-off bout at Superstar Spectacle last January.
Veer has been on the main roster since aligning with Jinder Mahal and Shanky in 2021. Sanga, meanwhile, is part of NXT's regular Tuesday cast.
