It looks like WWE has officially shelved The Revival ahead of their likely releases later this year.

Today's Cageside Seats Rumor Roundup column notes that the promotion has seemingly told Dash Widler and Scott Dawson to stay at home, which isn't exactly surprising. The duo have vanished from television. Their last SmackDown bout went down on the show's 31 January episode and while they were working live events as recently as 1 March, they have since been taken off the road entirely.

Compounding this situation is a new story from Fightful Select stating that WWE has either stopped paying The Revival entirely or "extremely scaled back" on their income. Why? Because Dash and Dawson have already hit their guaranteed downsides for the current financial period.

These downsides outline the amount of money a performer is guaranteed to make regardless of outside circumstances. With Dash and Dawson all but certain to leave the promotion over the next few months, WWE has likely decided that throwing money at departing assets isn't worthwhile.

Dawson is expected to leave WWE when his contract expires sometime between March and April, with Wilder set to follow in May or June.
