WWE Sets Date For Money In The Bank And Backlash 2021 PPVs
WWE announces the dates for its next two PPVs once WrestleMania 37 is done and dusted.
With WrestleMania 37 so nearly upon us, WWE has moved to announce the dates for its next two PPVs.
As initially reported by PWInsider, this year’s Money in the Bank event will take place on Sunday 16 May, while that will be followed up by Backlash on Sunday 20 June.
This means that it will be more than a month between this year’s Showcase of the Immortals and the company’s next PPV. And that PPV – Money in the Bank – will be WWE’s first PPV to emanate from the promotion’s new temporary home, the Yuengling Center at the University of South Florida.
Last year's Money in the Bank saw the event's titular ladder action taking place through WWE Headquarters. There, Otis emerged victorious as Mr MITB, whilst Asuka took home the women's prize. The following night revealed that Asuka had actually won herself not just a title shot, but the Raw Women's Championship after Becky Lynch was forced to vacate it. As for Backlash, the 2020 edition of that PPV featured 'The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever', as Randy Orton defeated Edge.
Having now bid farewell to Tropicana Field, WWE will be moving all of its main roster programming to the Yuengling Center following this weekend's WrestleMania 37.
