WWE has scrapped a house show originally set for Elmira, New York on Sunday 9 October due to poor ticket sales.

Per WrestleTix, WWE had distributed 2,117 of the 3,423 tickets made available for the Sunday Stunner event. Steve Donner, tenant of the First Arena (where the Elmira event was due to be held), commented:-

"We were informed by WWE that the October 9th event at First Arena is being cancelled. They were concerned that ticket sales were not moving up to their expectations in advance of the event. We are working with WWE to reschedule an event in the Spring of 2023. Refunds will be offered to ticket buyers from the source that they purchased their tickets. We are disappointed for area wrestling fans but will continue to bring wrestling events to the area."

This is the fifth Sunday Stunner show WWE has cancelled in 2022 to date, with events scheduled for 11 September, 25 September, 2 October, and 16 October already canned.

WWE last ran Elmira, NY in February 2020, drawing around 2,300 attendees.

Live events generated WWE $13.2 million operating income in Q2 2022, up from $0.9 million in 2021, though last year's figure would've been impacted by pandemic-related restrictions.
