WWE have rarely been as aggressive in acquiring new talent as they were in 2016, and dozens of new faces joined the company throughout the year. This trend looks set to continue in 2017, and according to a report from Squared Circle Sirens, an interesting new prospect has joined WWE on a developmental contract.

Isabel Lahela is a 22-year-old Canadian Olympic Weightlifter, professional model, and personal trainer, and will report to the Performance Center at the beginning of April.

Lahela is 22 years old, and won the 48kq weighlighting Junior Ontario Championship in 2014, and has since moved into the 53kg division. As well as weight training, Lahela is a retired dancer with 15 years' experience, and recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in architecture.

She took part in a huge set of WWE tryouts at the Performance Center back in September, when 38 men and women vied for contracts. The likes of Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace were signed in the aftermath, and while Lahela has only been training as a wrestler since August 2016, it looks like WWE are stacking their roster ahead of the rumoured women's tournament later this year.
