The 2014 edition of WWE's annual Slammy Awards took place on this week's edition of Raw. They had a number of different categories some of which were serious and others that were pretty silly. The show was hosted by actor Seth Green and there were presenters for every award with the winners delivering (if they were there) speeches on the stage. Here are the winners starting with the Superstar of the Year award, which was handed out last.
WWE Superstar Of The Year: Roman Reigns
The other nominees for this one were Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. Randy Orton wasn't even nominated even though he had a great year as the WWE Champion and headlined WrestleMania 30 as well as several other PPVs. The Reigns victory has people wondering about the legitimacy of the whole thing. Reigns hasn't been seen in months. It's not like he was clearly better than anybody. Did the fans REALLY vote for him more than the others? WWE is going to say that the voting is legit, but it's not like they have to show the results either. All we know for sure is they want Reigns to be a top guy, so putting him in this position is another way of pushing him up the ladder. He'll be back in the ring soon. It would be a shock if he didn't win the Royal Rumble. Whether you or I think the voting is legit or not is irrelevant. WWE does what they want and they wanted to use this moment to put over Reigns, so they did. Here are all the other awards with some quick comments on each....
