The final viewership numbers for last week's episode of WWE SmackDown are through - and they make for pleasing reading for the company's decision-makers.

SmackDown scored its highest overall viewership since before WrestleMania 36, coming through with an average of 2.329 million across its two hours, up from the overnight total of 2.261 million. This is a nice increase on the previous week's 2.129 million and is the show's best total since 3 April, when it drew 2.398 million, before settling into its regular groove around the 2 million mark.

As far as the key 18-49 demographic goes, SD came through with another healthy 0.60 rating. This is the fifth week in a row that the show has hit this mark. The figure was enough for SmackDown to finish fourth on the night amongst cable shows, beaten only by NBA playoff coverage but equalled by 20/20 on ABC.

The ratings bump comes on the back of a very well-received 4 September show, featuring Bayley finally turning on Sasha Banks amongst other big angles. This week's show saw Roman Reigns team with Clash of Champions opponent Jey Uso to face Baron Corbin and Sheamus.
