WWE SmackDown Draws Lowest Ever Rating Since Moving To FOX
A new low for the blue show.
This week's Friday Night SmackDown scored the lowest overnight viewership since the WWE show moved to FOX in October 2019 according to Showbuzz Daily.
Dropping 4.3% from last week's show, this week's edition drew an average of just 1.919 million viewers overnight.
The show also earned a 0.5 in the all important 18-49 demographic, which meant that they tied for fifth on the night.
On this week's show, Daniel Bryan took on King Corbin, Sheamus squashed another jobber, Otis and Carmella qualified for the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches, respectively, and The Forgotten Sons even scored a win over SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day. However, it appears that all of that action couldn't entice more viewers into flicking on the blue show.
Will we see WWE try something drastic in the near future in order to boost a rating?
Next week's SmackDown will be the go home show before Money in the Bank and appearances from Jeff Hardy, Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman have already been announced for the episode.
WWE will be hoping that the promise of a returning 'Charismatic Enigma' will be enough to improve on this week's dismal performance.
