This week's Smackdown was taped in Ontario, California, with several implications for September's Night Of Champions. Due for broadcast this Friday, the main event will be The Wyatt Family vs Roman Reigns, Big Show and Mark Henry. Results and spoilers follow. The show opened with Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt. Reigns ended up winning by disqualification when Erick Rowan and Luke Harper attacked. This resulted in a Wyatt Family beatdown of the former Shield leader, until Big Show and Mark Henry ran in to make the save. The six man main event was then set for later in the show. Seth Rollins defeated Rob Van Dam. The finish saw Rollins hit the curb stomp for the pin. Afterwards, Van Dam exited the ring quickly, and he's expected to leave WWE imminently. His latest run has been bland and there's doubt if he or WWE will be willing to work together again. Paige defeated Emma by submission in a short match. AJ Lee came out afterwards, bringing a box of chocolates to the ring. She offered the Divas Champion a chocolate, but Paige ended up taking one and spitting it in AJ's face. She then skipped away. Rusev defeated Jack Swagger. The segment started with Lana cutting a promo, but she was interrupted by Swagger's music. The American's ribs were heavily taped, but he was competing regardless. Rusev twice had his Accolade submission hold on Swagger, but twice the babyface escaped. Suddenly, Bo Dallas came to the ringside, throwing in a white towel on Swagger's behalf. That distracted the referee and allowed Rusev to sink the Accolade in once again - this time for the win. After the match, Bo cut a promo, telling Swagger he needed to Bo-lieve. He then hit the Bodog for good measure. Miz was shown backstage. Kane interrupted him and made a match for later, Miz vs Sheamus. Jimmy Uso pinned Stardust. Before the match, Goldust apologised for attack on Raw. However, after Jimmy beat Stardust with the rollup, the Rhodes brothers snapped again. They beat both Usos down in a vicious assault. Miz was out next, alongside Damien 'Mizdow' Sandow. The idea was continued from Raw that Sandow is impersonating Miz, so he'll be wrestling on his behalf against Sheamus. Sheamus defeated Damien Sandow. He made very short work of Mizdow, so Miz ran away to the back. However, before he could get away, Dolph Ziggler appeared and chased him back to the ring. Miz then managed to dodge Sheamus's brogue kick and escaped through the crowd. Roman Reigns, Mark Henry, and Big Show defeated The Wyatt Family. Reigns hit the spear on Harper for the pin. The babyfaces then closed the show with a pose down. Overall, Smackdown was an effective progression for key Night Of Champions storylines. The Swagger / Bo Dallas feud and Usos / Rhodes feud got particular attention and they should make for good undercard matches on September 21st.
