@WrestleOps on X is reporting that "a pretty majorly pushed star" was asked to slash their company pay in half. Yes, they were offered a rather shocking 50% pay cut. What's more, this worker allegedly accepted the edict from management. However, it isn't known at time of writing exactly who took the plunge, but @WrestleOps claims the decision took place "a day before news broke" on the likes of New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods leaving.

WWE released another batch of workers over the weekend - Kofi, Xavier and the MFT's JC Mateo and Tonga Loa were all trimmed from the roster. That had followed a staggering 23 wrestlers departing shortly after WrestleMania 42 had wrapped up.

Corroborating but clarifying, Wrestling Observer head Dave Meltzer reported that the worker who accepted a 50% pay slash "is not a tippy top person" on Raw or SmackDown. Meltzer also stated that WWE/TKO has offered select stars salary raises, which only makes some of the cuts even more depressing for those affected.

He pointed out that "it’s very clear who they see as the top people, and none of them have been asked to take a cut". This lines up with Kofi's emotional address after ending his lengthy WWE run. The New Day man encouraged others to always know their worth and never accept less than it.

Stay tuned for further word on exactly who took the 50% cut if/when it breaks. As always, WWE releases leave a bad taste in people's mouths if budgetary reasons are cited, especially when WWE/TKO rakes in so much cash.
