Triple H has confirmed that WWE star Bray Wyatt/Windham Rotunda sadly passed away on Thursday.

'The Game' posted on X that he received a phone call from Bray's father Mike Rotunda (remembered fondly for his own career and for his memorable IRS character in the 1990s) informing him that Wyatt unexpectedly died today. Trips naturally said WWE's thoughts are with the family, and asked that people respect their privacy at this tragic time.

Bray had been off WWE television since right before WrestleMania 39 - he was initially pencilled in for a match vs. Bobby Lashley, but vanished from screens and was never seen again before Hunter received that call. There were reports of "career and life-threatening" illness earlier in the year, but nobody could've predicted this awful news.

Wyatt, aged 36, was expected to return to programming ASAP by fans. Details surrounding his death are scarce, and it's clear this has come as a huge shock to everybody inside WWE as well as wrestling fans around the world.

All here at WhatCulture extend our condolences to the entire Rotunda family. It's worth saying that one of wrestling's most creative souls will be missed, but thoughts and prayers go out to his close friends and loved ones first and foremost.
