WWE's annual post-WrestleMania jaunt to European shores comes with a vast amount of media interviews, and Alberto del Rio has been particularly busy during the Spanish leg of the 2016 tour. The majority of his quotes have been centred on WrestleMania and the worldwide-scope of the company, but the former El Patron has also all but confirmed the end for the much-maligned League of Nations faction.

Del Rio revealed that the League was put together with Mania in mind, in order to create something of a 'strength in numbers' environment due to the mass of injuries suffered by the company. The clear post-WrestleMania plan for the group was to feud with a newly-turned Wyatt Family, but with Bray Wyatt suffering an injury on the tour it seems that the League is done.

Speaking fairly candidly, Del Rio admitted that the group hasn't quite gelled and Wyatt's injury leaves them without a purpose going forward. As such the League will disband, with the three remaining members going their separate ways back into the singles ranks.

For a group that contained the talent League of Nations did it can only go down in history as a grand creative failure. What should have been a credible main event faction became something of a running joke, and splitting them up is the only real option left. Rumours that Del Rio will now go back to stiffing Sin Cara on a weekly basis are unconfirmed.
