WWE Star Set For LONG Overdue Gimmick Change?

Madcap Moss could be on the verge of being repackaged in WWE.
The former 24/7 Champion, who appeared to be temporarily written off television on last week's episode of SmackDown, has been the subject of several pitches to switch up his character's presentation. This is according to WrestlingNews.co's Paul Davis, who states that said pitches involve dropping his gimmick's comedic stylings - as well as new gear and entrance music.
Moss, 32, became "Madcap" in September 2021, joining forces with Happy Corbin on SmackDown. This new persona saw him dress ridiculously in suspenders and dress shoes while cracking lame-by-design dad jokes opposite Corbin, representing a significant shift from his previous run as Riddick Moss. Happy and Madcap split when Moss became a de facto babyface after Corbin turned on him in April, though he has retained every aspect of his gimmick.
Madcap defeated Corbin via pinfall at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 on 8 May. Then, on SmackDown, Happy scored revenge, beating his old partner down with a steel chair, leading to WWE announcing a storyline "cervical contusion" for Moss.
There is currently no word on when the former 24/7 Champion is due to return to television.
