Speaking on NBC Sports Boston's Ten Count podcast, the SmackDown star threw her support behind an Intercontinental/United States Championship equivalent, citing the women's division's diversity to support the argument. In Rodriguez's eyes, introducing such a belt would represent a "great leap forward."

Said Raquel (h/t SEScoops):-

"100 percent. I think that would be something so great for the women’s division especially because we have so much diversity in the women’s division. We have women from all over the world, from all over the country, from different backgrounds and different ethnicities. I think having an Intercontinental Championship, having a North American championship for the women would be something. Just a huge leap forward for the Women’s Division in wrestling in general. And I personally do feel like that is something that is possible and is something that’s that could possibly be happening in the near future so I’m looking forward to that and possibly you know making new history."

WWE currently has three main roster championships dedicated to its women's division - top-line belts for Raw and SmackDown, as well as a brand-fluid Women's Tag Team Championship - to compliment NXT's two straps. Rodriguez has held three of them, reigning as NXT Women's, NXT Women's Tag Team, and Women's Tag Team Champion over the past couple of years.
