WWE Still Undecided On Top Money In The Bank 2022 Plans
WWE is yet to make up its mind regarding Roman Reigns at Money In The Bank 2022.
WWE remains undecided on its plans for Roman Reigns at Money In The Bank 2022.
The 2 July show is the promotion's next premium live event, though who might face the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion hasn't been determined yet. This is according to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer reported that Raw's Riddle had originally been earmarked as Reigns' opponent. This had changed at the time of publishing, with the former UFC fighter no longer pencilled in for the shot, though this could conceivably change between now and Money In The Bank. As of right now, WWE has not settled on a challenger for Roman.
That Reigns competes on the premium live event isn't guaranteed itself. Now working a more relaxed WWE schedule per the terms of his new contract with the promotion, the company's top star was recently pulled from MITB marketing materials along with Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, and more.
Meltzer and cohost Bryan Alvarez speculated on Bobby Lashley as a potential MITB opponent for Reigns. Lashley defeated Omos and MVP in a 2-on-1 handicap match at Hell In A Cell 2022 last night.
Reigns is expected to remain as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion until at least Clash At The Castle (3 September), where he is slated to face Drew McIntyre. Randy Orton had previously been reported as a potential PLE opponent too, though SummerSlam 2022 (30 July) looks likelier for him.
