Going into Sunday, there was an inkling that WWE might spring an Ambrose heel turn early by either having him cost Rollins the chance to become Intercontinental Champion or by blasting him with a DDT post-match. Neither scenario happened, and that's refreshing from a company that (these days, at least) prefers a knee-jerk approach.

The relationship between Ambrose and Rollins can now simmer before Dean inevitably turns rogue on his ex-Shield buddy and chases his title. Whether that happens during WrestleMania 35 season or not is fully up to WWE, but they've now got a story in their back pocket to tell at a later date.
