WWE may have finally found a suitable location to host the SummerSlam 2020 pay-per-view on 23 August.

Per Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, the promotion is putting serious thought into holding the show in Atlantic City, NJ, as Vince McMahon is reportedly sick of holding big events in the sparsely-populated WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The WWE Chairman and CEO is desperate for fans to return to shows. Atlantic City is therefore an interesting proposition, as New Jersey state governor Phil Murphy recently reduced the maximum number of attendees at indoor events from 100 to 25. Up to 500 people can be at an outdoor event, however, provided social distancing guidance is observed.

Recent reports have suggested WWE planned on hosting SummerSlam 2020 at an unconventional location, with beaches and even cruise ships brought into the conversation. Atlantic City is famous for the former.

Indie group Game Changer Wrestling recently held its Homecoming Weekend shows at Atlantic City's Garden Pier. WWE would likely look for something bigger for SummerSlam, though GCW's success shows that live pro-wrestling can work in the city at the moment.
