WWE SummerSlam 2022: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
8. SmackDown Women's Title: Liv Morgan (c) Vs. Ronda Rousey
Result: Morgan turned Ronda's Armbar into a pinfall, retaining the title (4:35).
Rating: This match was a tricky one to book given that WWE likely wanted to keep the title on Morgan yet realised, like everyone, that she wasn't much of a credible threat against Rousey.
They were smart to keep it short, then, though that ending is understandably divisive.
On one hand it shifts the heat to the referee for failing to notice Liv tapping out, but on the other it does seem incredibly silly that such ridiculously bogus calls can still fly in 2022, when an instant replay could rectify the issue within seconds.
But that's not what WWE is, yet even if you can forgive the goofy ending, this was a pretty flat showing. It was too short to build a head of steam and did nothing but work through the most basic, expected beats. 4/10
