WWE SummerSlam 2025: 12 Nightmares That Could Come True
8. WWE Throws Away Becky’s Value
Everyone gets that WWE want to push Lyra Valkyria to the moon and create a long-term star with her. They can get to that, but Becky Lynch has true value as Women’s Intercontinental Champion for the rest of 2025 and through the first quarter of 2026/WrestleMania 42 season. She should be the veteran people point to in years to come and say: ‘Yep, Becks made that belt what it is today’.
All of the odds being stacked against Valkyria suggest she’ll come away with the title on Sunday, but then what? Her shaky promo on Monday’s Raw didn’t scream confidence. Sure, Lyra deserves the chance to improve on that and get more reps, but do your XP farming away from the title for now until she’s truly ready. There's no need to rush into another title reign for the sake of it.
'Big Time Becks' is the better option as things stand. She's a made woman to WWE's fanbase, and her feuds will always carry some interest because of things she's achieved in the past. Using Lynch's legacy star power to build up as many names as possible in the women's division midcard should be Triple H's goal.
'The Game' also has another option: Running with Bayley as a heart on her sleeve challenger vs. Lynch or turning her heel due to various frustrations. Either choice would work, and recent promos on TV imply that Bayley feels less than huggable in late-July 2025 anyway. She's ripe for a redemption story or a change of pace entirely.
Don't chuck Becky's worth away 'cause of the stip between Lyra and herself. Just don't.
