Rey Mysterio made his return to WWE PPV tonight following his injury and suspension in a matchup for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Some might say this secondary title is beneath the two former World Champions, but personally I feel they are only at this upper mid card level these days and thus should wrestle for appropriate titles. The Miz - who I hate - was quite impressive, and seemed to mesh really well with his opponent. Mysterio - dressed entirely in black and looking like an S&M Batman - was slower than usual but given his list of injuries and age it's not that surprising. Perhaps not as fast a match as we'd expect given the names involved but still a nice change of pace after the much more methodical Kane/Bryan contest. After several near falls Miz retained the belt with a Skull Crushing Finale. Not surprising given his removal from the WWE doghouse recently and there's still a WWE Studio's movie to promote, right?
