WWE Super ShowDown 2019: 5 Overlooked Positives In The Undertaker/Goldberg Match
5. The Entrances Were Amazing
Goldberg walking through a wall of sparks, The Undertaker rising through a bed of fog: there was something almost unearthly about watching these two legendary gladiators make their way to the ring at Super ShowDown that, even though the WWE Universe knew the match would never be what it once could have been, they were still in awe of the prospect of seeing these two superstars go toe-to-toe.
It's clear that WWE was well-aware that the entrances would, in all likelihood, be the best part of their collision, so they went all out - with both superstars even receiving a lot more fanfare than they usually would.
Goldberg may have missed a few of his pyro cues but not even that could stop his extended arrival from seeming larger-than-life. As for The Undertaker, all the classic scare tactics were resurrected for him, including caskets, druids and flaming torches. While this could have been down to the fact that 'The Phenom' didn't appear at WrestleMania this year (with the-powers-that-be deciding to give him a WrestleMania-like entrance here instead), all of these classic mind games certainly set this awe-inspiring arrival apart from his multitude of recent entrances.
While it's true that The Undertaker and Goldberg aren't quite the battle-ready warriors that they once were, that spine-tingling aura they were both renowned for was still very much present throughout their respective arrivals, adding a big fight-feel to an event that was sorely missing it.
