WWE Super Showdown In Saudi Arabia Confirmed For February
Company's first Saudi show of 2020 to take place in Riyadh.
WWE have confirmed their next trip to Saudi Arabia.
During last night's excellent Royal Rumble, a video package played announcing that the next in the company's maligned Super ShowDown chronology is scheduled for Thursday, 27 February, from Riyadh's King Fahd International Stadium.
WWE's partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority, which began with April 2018's Greatest Royal Rumble, was thrust into considerable doubt following an alleged disagreement between the two parties at the most recent event in the country. October 2019's Crown Jewel was beset by travel issues, with reports suggesting WWE cut the local feed to the show over unpaid fees.
If there were any such problems, they were quickly smoothed over; in November, WWE and the GSA announced that their partnership had been extended through to 2027 to include a guaranteed second annual large-scale event.
At present, no matches are confirmed for the second Saudi Super ShowDown, though Sting has been heavily rumoured for the show. Last year's edition was headlined by The Undertaker taking on Goldberg. The pair, owing to a combined age of over 100, very nearly killed one another.
