Pre-Survivor Series, there were worries that WWE's over-reliance on the mind-numbing tedium of Raw vs. SmackDown would spoil the show. Suddenly, the pay-per-view had a bit of a wild card feel. Would that save it from being throwaway? Arguably not, but there was enough to make some matches worthwhile viewing. These bouts also hinted at upcoming storylines and what WWE have in mind for the forthcoming march from Royal Rumble-WrestleMania 35 early next year.

We also learned, all over again, that Shane McMahon is someone the booking team dearly love with all their little hearts. From his standard supershow elbow through the announce table to his Coast-To-Coast kicks, Shane was allowed to run riot before (thankfully) being cut down by men who deserve the push more.
