WWE Talent FRUSTRATED By Same WrestleMania 42 Problems As You (WWE News)
Wrestlers behind the scenes are wary of WWE and TKO's money, money, money approach.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has revealed via The Hump that there's "frustration" behind the scenes at WWE amongst some wrestlers because of the company/TKO's money, money, money approach to ads and shorter matches at WrestleMania 42.
'Mania's Saturday night (in particular) was hit hard by countless ad interruptions that led to numerous complaints online from fans tuning in. It's fair to say that watching most WWE broadcasts live at the time has become an exercise in patience - at times, WrestleMania Saturday felt like a series of commercials with some matches sprinkled in between, and that didn't sit well with some.
According to Sapp, it's the same behind the curtain. However, this is a touchy subject because WWE's roster is raking it in. Fightful chief Sapp said: "They understand they’ve got to make money, and honestly...the wrestlers are making more money than ever before. This is the most financially rewarding period in pro wrestling history".
He continued: "But it is one of those catch-22s where almost the majority of people are in this now, and they’re saying, ‘We need to make this money.’ They want that money - it’s hard to say no to the type of money that WWE is paying now. But right now, WWE is in a ‘consume product, enjoy next product’ mode. That’s the reality of where they are, and yeah - there is frustration there".
Recent reports explained why a Women's World Title bout between Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan was on the shorter side (there were concerns going in about injuries to both), but not every bout across the weekend had that excuse.
This is definitely something to keep an eye on. WWE/TKO do not want talent getting restless or unhappy.
