This Sunday, WWE presents TLC, live on PPV and the WWE Network. This is the sixth TLC PPV event since the show originated in December 2009 (replacing Armageddon, which had been the December PPV show). This year, TLC takes place in Boston, MA at the TD Garden, home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. Following this week's television, we can now break down the full card for the show. The following matches are scheduled to take place this Sunday:
Ryback vs. Rusev WWE Divas Championship Charlotte (c) vs. Paige WWE United States Championship - Chair Match Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger Tables Elimination Match The Wyatt Family vs. The Dudley Boyz, Rhino and Tommy Dreamer WWE Tag Team Championship - Ladder Match The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons WWE Intercontinental Championship Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose WWE World Heavyweight Championship - TLC Match Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
While television has been weak for several weeks, this card has some potential on paper. Two matches really stand out above the rest as possible show-stealers, and there's a third bout that also has some sleeper potential as a highlight of the evening. Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Title and the triple threat match for the Tag Team Titles both look to be the best matches of the evening. Even though they have done so time after time, Owens and Ambrose should take this opportunity together to show the upper brass why they belong in the main event scene. It's nearly a guarantee that this will be a great match. The triple thread ladder match has the potential to be real good or real messy, depending on what type of match they put together. With all of the young high flyers in the bout, I'm sure that they will try to recreate some of the magic of the ladder matches in years past that they grew up watching (read: an abundance of high spots). This could end up real good or turn out real ugly. I'm going to lean toward the latter. Further, the Divas Title match between and Charlotte and Paige is the sleeper match that could turn out to be an excellent contest. Charlotte has lost her way somewhat since becoming the Divas Champion (for the love of God, please stop making her say "woo"), but if she and Paige tap into what made them great in NXT, this could be a very good match. Their feud has gone on probably longer than it should have, so here's hoping that these two pull out a memorable performance in what could be the blow-off match for their current storyline. TLC on Sunday kicks off a big week for WWE. The post-PPV live edition of RAW will take place Monday night in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a SmackDown television taping on Tuesday in Newark, NJ. Across the pond, NXT continues their U.K. tour which will finish up on Wednesday with their live Takeover special, NXT Takeover: London, on the WWE Network.
