WWE To Introduce NXT Women's Tag Team Titles
The NXT brand will reportedly soon be bringing Women's Tag Team Titles to the table.
With four brain-exclusive titles at play in the NXT brand, it looks as if the black and gold brand is to get an additional piece of championship gold.
As per the Wrestling Observer, WWE currently has plans to introduce NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles.
This past Wednesday saw NXT’s Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai controversially come up short in their quest to dethrone Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The fallout of that saw NXT General Manager William Regal promise that a game-changing announcement will take place on next week’s outing for the brand.
It’s not yet known whether Regal’s big announcement will indeed be to bring NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships into the mix, but it does seem that those belts are imminently on the horizon.
While both the Raw and SmackDown’s women’s rosters are paper thin once you get past the top few acts, NXT undoubtedly has the best female roster in North America. As such, there’s certainly enough talent to develop a fully-formed women’s tag team division there.
