WWE To Revive Old NXT Gimmick For Seth Rollins Vs. Matt Riddle
This one sounds perfect for a blood feud...
WWE fans will get their first main roster look at a "fight pit" match at Extreme Rules next month, when Seth Rollins will face Matt Riddle in the next chapter of their heated rivalry.
The two superstars have been at each other's throats for months, with Rollins attacking Riddle so badly this summer that he wasn't medically cleared to wrestle their scheduled match at SummerSlam. Then at Clash at the Castle, Seth capitalized on a frustrated Riddle to defeat him.
Since then, Riddle has been trying to goad him into a rematch, and he struck a nerve Monday when he cost Rollins the United States Championship. Rollins attacked Riddle during his tag match, and the two were later seen fighting backstage when the Original Bro laid down his challenge.

NXT was home to two fight pit matches, one of which involved Riddle. Those matches involve a ropeless ring with a steel cage surrounding it, and the only way to win was by knockout or submission. Whether those rules will be any different on the main roster remains to be seen.
Extreme Rules will take place on 8 October in Philadelphia.
