WWE Told Sheamus They Didn't Remember His Old Entrance Theme
"It's a shameful thing, lobster head"...
Sheamus said on WWE's The Bump that he asked to get his old entrance music back before he returned to screens in January, but the company weren't interested.
The Irishman revealed that officials also told him they couldn't remember the theme at all. They stood there bemused as Sheamus rang off made-up lines like, "It's a shameful thing, lobster head" and, "Too many limes. Too many limes?" (instead of "too many times").
Hilarious.
WWE felt the music was outdated and that he should continue using the same 'Hellfire' tune that's been blaring over arena speakers since 2015. Whilst there's no doubt that's an absolute banger, it's also easy to see why Sheamus wanted 'Written In My Face' back.
He was returning to his old, classic look for the comeback, and it would've been a nice nod towards the past if he'd gone back to that first WWE theme. It wasn't to be, because apparently it's "outdated".
Kayla Braxton put some headphones on Sheamus so he could listen to the old track, and he joked that hearing it again only made WWE's decision harder to stomach.
