WWE Unveil NXT UK Women's Championship Belt, Plus Tournament Results

Bracket kicks off in Birmingham.

As the tournament to determine NXT UK's Women's Champion begins in earnest, WWE last night revealed the prize on offer for the eight participants.

During an NXT UK taping in Birmingham, England, the crowd were shown a brand new title belt, superficially identical to the men's equivalent albeit with a white strap instead of black, after the fashion of the WWE and Raw Women's Titles.

The quarter-finals of the elimination contest took place at the event, as Dakota Kai bested Nina Samuels, Jinny had the better of youngster Millie McKenzie, Rhea Ripley dispatched Xia Brookside, and tournament favourite Toni Storm downed Isla Dawn. The semi-finals are final are set to take place later today, with Ripley scheduled to take on Kai, and Storm clashing with Jinny.

Elsewhere on the taping, Zack Gibson defeated Trent Seven, Jordan Devlin went over Ligero, and NXT UK champion Pete Dunne prevailed alongside Tyler Bate against Mark Coffey and Wolfgang. To go alongside the show, 2K Games announced victors Dunne and Bate will both be included in their upcoming WWE 2K19 title.

Despite WWE forging ahead with their NXT UK tapings, they still haven't confirmed a potential home for the show.
