WWE: Vince McMahon And Triple H Tape Tribute For The Ultimate Warrior Memorial Raw

By Grahame Herbert /

Vince McMahon and Triple H could be featured in the Ultimate Warrior Tribute Raw with pre-taped interviews, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. "I guess Vince taped something for Raw tomorrow, Triple H has taped something for Raw tomorrow," Bryan Alvarez states. There is a standard card in place but it's expected that tonight's 14th April Raw show will be mainly Ultimate Warrior focused. Dave Meltzer further comments "It will be a big Warrior tribute show, it will get a big rating, which these things always do." A video memorial from Vince McMahon will be the most fitting and touching tribute WWE could make to Warrior. For better and worse, Vince was the key relationship Warrior had in WWE. The chairman and the wrestler had a shared passion for bodybuilding and made a lot of money together during Warrior's successful 1989-1991 run. They later butted heads when Warrior felt McMahon undervalued his contribution, leading to the infamous SummerSlam 1991 fall out that led to Warrior's departure from the WWF. He would return multiple times for small runs, but his strained relationship with Vince essentially cost him ever fully bedding back into the WWF. It was remarkable that the pair reconciled just before Warrior's death at the WWE Hall of Fame 2014. A rare Raw appearance from Vince to honour Warrior will carry huge meaning. A video tribute from Triple H will also be profound. The Game was squashed and embarrassed in a 90 second Warrior performance at WrestleMania in 1996, he later called Warrior "an a**hole" in the Self destruction of the Ultimate Warrior DVD. Having made up last year, with Hunter helping put the Warrior return deal together, he perhaps got to know Warrior well in these last few months. It should be an emotional night all around as WWE performers shed their on-air characters and speak from the heart.
