Speaking to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, E alluded that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wanted to split up the New Day trio after KofiMania had been running wild.

"I can't really divulge the conversation, but even from the top of the business, the very head of what we do - you know exactly who I'm talking about - he directly told us, 'Hey, this is the idea'. And we said, 'We're not feeling it.'"

Big E would then specify how this particular example came after KofiMania, although he did add how there had been pitches made to break up New Day even before that. Those pitches were all shot down by the talent, with them all feeling so strongly about not wanting to do the standard split that so many great teams have inevitably done over the decades.

From there, the two-time Intercontinental Champion discussed how, even now, he believes that there are still so many great moments left to come for the trio of himself, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

At Money in the Bank this Sunday, Big E will face Drew McIntyre, John Morrison, Ricochet, Riddle, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura in a race to grab the men's Money in the Bank briefcase. As for Kofi Kingston, he gets a shot at the WWE Championship currently held by Bobby Lashley.
