Less than six weeks after they won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez relinquished the titles Friday due to Morgan's injury, with new champs to be crowned later this month.

Morgan was injured during their tag match against Damage CTRL on SmackDown last week. Michael Cole said Friday that the injury came during a Dakota Kai running boot. On Raw earlier this week, the tag champs were set to face Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, but the bout was scrubbed due to Liv's injury, and Raquel faced and beat Green in a singles match.

Monday's redirection seemed to hint that Morgan's injury might only be a short-term sideline, but it's clear she'll be out long enough to warrant stripping the champs.

Now, the Women's Tag Team Championship will be up for grabs on the May 29 episode of Raw in a four-way tag match including Green & Deville, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Bayley & Iyo Sky, and Rodriguez and a partner of her choosing.

It's worth noting that Rousey & Baszler attacked Raquel after her singles win on Raw Monday, so all four challengers for the vacant titles have been intertwined in some fashion.

Rodriguez and Morgan won the titles on the April 10 Raw, defeating Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, who was subbing for Lita. That match of course was followed by Trish turning heel and attacking Lynch. Our thoughts are with Morgan for a speedy recovery and that we see her back in the ring soon enough.
