WWE Women's Title Match Set For Next Week's Raw
Belair will defend Raw Women's Championship in her hometown against Deville.
It looks like WWE isn't waiting until WrestleMania Backlash to give fans Bianca Belair's first title defence.
Belair will defend the Raw Women's Championship on next week's Raw against Sonya Deville, which means the champ will put her title on the line in her hometown of Knoxville, Tenn. Unlike many who fall victim to the WWE trope, it's highly unlikely that Belair will lose this match - or at least that she'd lose her title this soon after Mania.
After winning the title at WM 38 from Becky Lynch, Belair was inquiring about her first challenger when authority figure Sonya Deville approached her last week with an open contract to defend the Raw Women's Championship. Bianca signed the contract but was blindsided by Deville, who revealed herself as the challenger.

It initially seemed like this would take place at Backlash, but with Raw emanating from Belair's hometown next week, it looks like WWE decided to give the fans a treat.
Deville has wrestled very sporadically since losing a Loser Leaves WWE match at SummerSlam 2020, competing in only five televised matches. Belair, meanwhile, seems poised after dethroning Lynch to become a major star.
Given that Deville hasn't been afraid to use her position to benefit her, we might see some shenanigans next week, so stay tuned.
