WWE Worlds Collide Tournament Confirmed For Royal Rumble Weekend
The stars of 205 Live, NXT, and NXT UK collide on 26-27 January.
WWE have announced a new tournament pitting the stars of NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live against each other later this month, with the inaugural Worlds Collide competition scheduled for Royal Rumble weekend.
Taking place at Royal Rumble Axxess on 26 January, Worlds Collide will start with a 15-man battle royal, the order of which will determine first-round matches for a single elimination tournament. The winner of said battle royal will receive a bye into the second stage.
The finals take place the following day (27 January), with the following Superstars all confirmed to take part:-
From NXT: Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Dominik Dijakovic, Keith Lee, Otis Dozovic.
From NXT UK: Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, Travis Banks, Jordan Devlin, Zack Gibson.
From 205 Live: Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, TJP, +1 TBA.
Each pool features some of the most exciting names from each brand, which all but guarantees fun in-ring action. NXT's Humberto Carrillo was originally set to take that final 205 Live spot but has since been removed from the tournament.
Whoever wins will "claim a future title opportunity" of their choosing, with Worlds Collide eventually airing as a Network special, though there's no word on when it'll be uploaded or what form it'll take.
