Lauper was one of the most critical individuals in the success of WWEs attempt at entering popular culture. She won Best New Artist at the 1985 Grammy Awards, and from there she began to establish herself as a pop music icon in North America. At WrestleMania I, Lauper was in Wendi Richters corner, and even had a small physical confrontation with The Fabulous Moolah, as the latter tried to interfere in Richter's match. Long after her role in the Rock N wrestling Connection ended, Lauper continued to play a major role in pop music. She released nine albums since 1986, started a family, became one of only twenty artists to achieve GET (Grammy, Emmy Tony) status, and has also appeared on RAW a few times. Lauper is also a passionate activist for many causes. Her most notable causes are cancer and LGBT awareness, the latter of which has been something she has championed for many years.
