WWE WrestleMania 31: 10 Matches That Would Make The Perfect Event

By John Canton /

5. Randy Orton Vs. Rusev

Randy Orton will be a babyface in the near future. It might happen before the end of 2014 because his issues with Seth Rollins grow by the week. That's not an accident. It is being done to set up the turn, which should be successful for him at least in the short term. It certainly helps that all those Orton RKO videos are all over the internet in the last week. Rusev has been crushing everybody in his path since he became a regular on the main roster after WrestleMania 30. He's gone through the likes of Jack Swagger and Mark Henry with Big Show next up on his radar. There are all kinds of rumors that he might face a returning Kurt Angle, which would be awesome except that Angle's probably staying in TNA. Then there's the possibility of Rusev vs. Cena, which doesn't sound bad although I have something better in mind for Cena. A match between Orton and Rusev would be interesting. While Orton isn't like "Super Cena" he is still booked very strongly all the time. He's one of the biggest names ever. If Rusev went over him, it would be a huge deal. We haven't really seen Orton pushing the USA angle, but he would get a lot of crowd support facing off with the "Russian" Rusev and Lana. If the goal with Rusev is to book him to become the WWE Champion without losing before that then he would go over here. If not then Orton can get the win. There are plenty of options.
