WWE WrestleMania 36 Logo Revealed
Jolly Buddy Rogers it is.
Hot off the heels of WWE confirming Tampa Bay as the location for 2020's WrestleMania 36, our first peek of the show's logo has leaked online. And it's not a big sun!
Instead, it's a black flag hoisted around a cutlass, with a red banner blustering in the foreground. The spiffing new design draws on the piratey theme of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the tenants of WrestleMania 36's venue the Raymond James Stadium. The impressive arena notably contains a 103-foot replica galleon in one corner, which fires off its cannons each time the Bucs score a point.
Not coincidentally, the logo is very similar to that of the NFL franchise - which is somewhat unusual, considering rival XFL franchise Tampa Bay are scheduled to move into the arena next spring.
It makes a visually arresting change from the logos accompanying previous WrestleManias in the state. Both WrestleMania XXIV and 33, each emanating from Orlando's Camping World Stadium, featured a big burning sun to symbolise the city, whilst WrestleMania XXVIII, hosted in Miami, went with a fairly bog standard version.
WrestleMania 36 is scheduled for April of next year. More details are slated for reveal during a "star-studded event" at 11AM ET.
