As announced by WWE during Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, next year's edition of the company's annual Showcase of the Immortals will be a two-day event.

Following in the footsteps of this year's 'Mania and last's, WrestleMania 39 will take place across two days on the weekend of 1-2 April 2022.

Currently being advertised as WrestleMania Hollywood, next year's Granddaddy of Them All will emanate from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

For those wondering why SoFi Stadium sounds familiar in a wrestling context, this was initially meant to be the venue of WrestleMania 37. Due to Raymond James Stadium not being able to host 'Mania 36 because of the global pandemic - that event instead taking place in the empty WWE Performance Center - RJS was given WrestleMania 37, and SoFi Stadium pushed back to 'Mania 39.

This will mark the sixth time that the Greater Los Angeles area has hosted a WrestleMania, following in the footsteps of WrestleMania 2, WrestleMania VII, WrestleMania XII, WrestleMania 2000 and WrestleMania 21.

Tickets for next year's Show of Shows are not on sale yet, although certain ticket websites have already opened up sign-up notifications for pre-sale information.

As it stands, the major rumour is that The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is the planned main event for WrestleMania 39. Of course, those plans could easily change, especially with Dwayne Johnson's ever-hectic schedule.
