The 31-year-old's previous contract was due to expire sometime in February. Negotiations on a new deal have hit a wall, Fightful state, and with the aforementioned extension set to finish soon, sources with knowledge on the situation have stated that Webster rejected WWE's first renewal offer.

Webster is currently one of WWE's long-term absentees. Having not wrestled since October 2021, he revealed in November that he had been "fighting surgery for three years," having fought through a torn labrum for the bulk of his WWE run. Any return to NXT UK is now completely up in the air following this contract news.

Flash hit the highest point of his WWE run to date in August 2019, when he and partner Mark Andrews dethroned Grizzled Young Veterans as NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The Gallus pairing of Mark Coffey and Wolfgang ended their run with the gold 34 days later.

Known for his throwback mod gimmick on the independents and in WWE, Webster has been with the market leaders since 2018, when he entered via the second United Kingdom Championship Tournament.
