WWE's Bayley Out Injured For 9 MONTHS!
Bayley vs. Bianca Belair won't happen at WWE's MITB pay-per-view after all.
Bayley is out of commission for at least nine months.
Fightful Select reports that the WWE star was running training drills at the Performance Center when her knee "popped". Follow-up reports have since confirmed that Bayley suffered a torn ACL and will be benched for almost an entire year.
WWE announced that Bayley's previously-planned "I Quit" match opposite reigning SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair had been cancelled on Friday night's episode. Instead, Belair will defend against interim challenger Carmella on next week's show.
Bianca doesn't have a pay-per-view opponent as things stand, so it seems WWE may keep her off MITB due to Bayley's plight. That's a bit of a bummer for Belair, but nothing can compare to what Bayley must be feeling right now.
There's been a ton of excitement in WWE circles about the imminent return of live crowds over the next few weeks. Now, Bayley will have to sit on the sidelines and watch as fans pour back into arenas - she won't be pulling on the tights for at least nine months.
Bayley stayed in character when announcing the injury, and blamed the fans for what happened.
