WWE's Big E Reveals The Extent Of His Neck Injury
WWE superstar provides his own good news after horrific accident on SmackDown.
After a gruesome injury that required him being stretchered out of the arena on WWE SmackDown Friday night, Big E provided some "really good news" Saturday that gave fans a huge sigh of relief.
Delivering a short update via Twitter, E told fans that he has fractured C1 and C6 vertebrae, though they're non-displacement fractures. "I don't have any damage to my spinal cord, no ligament damage and no surgery, which I'm very thankful for," he said. E went on to joke that "if you're going to break your neck, do it in Birmingham," praising the medical staff.

E also responded Saturday evening to a tweet from Drew McIntyre, who indicated he spent time at the hospital with the former WWE Champion Friday night.
Big E was teaming with Kofi Kingston and facing Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a match that also saw the main roster debut of Pete Dunne, now renamed Butch, when he took an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Holland on the floor and landed on his head. The match went to a quick finish afterward, with Big E remaining on the ground and being stretchered off-camera later.
Various outlets have reported that the original plan was for Xavier Woods to eventually rejoin his New Day brethren to combat the heel trio, likely in a six-man tag match at WrestleMania 38. It's unclear how WWE will proceed, perhaps with someone subbing for Big E.
As part of Big E's recovery, Diamond Dallas Page has been quick to reach out and offer his help. Amongst all of the wrestlers DDP and his DDP Yoga have helped over the years, the WWE Hall of Famer notably helped Tommaso Ciampa and the Viking Raiders' Ivar in their recovery from neck injuries.

Regardless, the news from Big E himself is probably the best-case scenario given the injury. We're all thankful that the words "spinal fusion surgery" aren't part of the conversation and wish E a speedy and safe recovery.
