WrestleVotes reports that prior to the controversial Matt Riddle's departure from WWE, the market leaders had made "significant" plans for him and Drew McIntyre as a tag team. That's not the silly part, though. McIntyre and Riddle's name was seemingly locked in, with WWE going as far as designing merchandise for the duo, emblazoned with "McRiddle."

Whether or not the promotion would've sought crossover promotion with Ronald McDonald and his award-winning bistro is unknown.

WrestleVotes posted:

Prior to his departure from the company, I’m told there were significant plans for a Matt Riddle / Drew McIntyre tag team. So much so, various merchandise items were designed with the team name……. “McRiddle.” This is not a joke.

Riddle, 37, was released from WWE on 22 September, shortly after claiming he was sexually assaulted by a Port Authority police officer at JFK Airport. The former UFC fighter appeared to be intoxicated when making the accusations.

McIntyre has been pushed prominently on Raw recently, finding new life as a heel singles star. He and Riddle last teamed on the red brand's 4 September episode.
