WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble To Feature SEVEN Championship Matches
It's possible this show will comprise the entire 10-year deal.
WWE have today released further information about their brilliant-sounding Greatest Royal Rumble supershow set for 27 April in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and boy is it shaping up to be a doozy.
In addition to the previously announced, record-setting 50-man (fifty!) Royal Rumble, spectators at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium will see no fewer than seven championship matches, including the two top-tier straps, the Intercontinental Championship, the US Championship, both sets of tag belts and the soon-to-be newly crowned Cruiserweight title.
In other words, it's going to be bloody long. Think WrestleMania proportions.
Interestingly, no women's titles matches have been announced, nor have any female competitors been advertised for the card.
Saudi Arabia is seven hours ahead of the US east coast, making the live Network stream a little tricky. The show is set for a 7pm AST kick-off, meaning a lunchtime start stateside.
In addition to the slew of slated championship matches, WWE also revealed that tickets are due to go on sale on Saturday 31 March. The record attendance for the stadium was a full 62,241 capacity crowd for a football match between Al-Ahli and Al-Shababa four years ago. Reconfigured for wrestling, it's possible WWE could eclipse that total.
Further broadcast details will be released in the coming weeks.
