WWE's Huge Tag Team Title Plans Revealed
What's next for Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in WWE?
Anyone who may be concerned about Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens' future direction in WWE need not worry: the company reportedly has what would surely be a crowd-pleasing feud up its sleeve for the Tag Team Champions.
Wrestling insider WRKD Wrestling reports that WWE plans on running Zayn and Owens against a reformed DIY in the future. This follows Tommaso Ciampa's return to action for the first time in nine months on this week's Raw, which is still set to lead to a full-on reunion with Johnny Gargano.
WRKD tweeted:-
While Johnny Gargano was noticeably absent from #WWERaw, fans saw the return of Ciampa. As we’ve reported in the past, there are still plans in the works to reform #DIY. We can now add current plans have this leading to a feud with Owens/Zayn over the tag titles.
Ciampa was a surprise opponent for The Miz on Raw, defeating his former ally in around four minutes. Gargano, despite the show taking place in his hometown, didn't appear on the broadcast.
Owens and Zayn have been WWE's Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions since dethroning The Usos at WrestleMania 39. The babyface tandem has since mounted successful defences against The Usos in a rematch, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, and Imperium. Raw saw them team with Cody Rhodes to fend off The Judgment Day.
There is currently no word on when WWE may look to run the Zayn/Owens vs. DIY feud.
