Yesterday saw reports surface detailing how Kofi suffered an injury on this past Friday's episode of SmackDown. As it stands, Kofi Kingston is scheduled to take on Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, LA Knight and Karrion Kross on this week's SmackDown, with the winner of that match earning themselves a shot at GUNTHER's Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39.

It remains to be seen whether Kofi will still be a part of this contest, and likewise it remains to be seen whether the New Day man will have to miss any substantial ring time as he heals up.
